Hi, I'm Fred!

I’m a part-time artist living in the DFW area (Texas). I’ve been oil painting since 2018. I have no formal training but I’ve always had an artistic bug in me. When I was about 3 or 4 years old I started doing pencil drawings with my older brother. We loved the Gremlins movie so we would draw and color these wonky looking creatures whenever we could.

As I got a little older I loved coming home from school and watching Bob Ross on PBS. I wanted so badly to do what he was doing but did not have the means to do it. At 18 I started dabbling around with photoshop, coloring comic book pages for fun. Eventually, with life getting in the way, that faded away. I joined the military, then went to college, got a job, had two kids and so on.

It wasn't until about twenty years later that the artistic bug hit me again. On Christmas for Secret Santa someone gifted me an oil paint sample set! That was it! I went out and got brushes, canvas, an easel and haven’t stopped since.
